Author: Thetruthinsports
For all of the NBA fans out there I know the NFL is just getting cranked up and reaching the quarter season point where you find out exactly which teams are for real and which are for play play. The NBA preseason has begun and I will let you know who the contenders are before the season starts and also who will win it all in June.
I know you are probaly saying how in the world can I have this information all ready? I always have an answer that's why the handle for this site is the Truth in Sports. I am going to give you the two teams who will be in the finals at the end of the season and I will let you know about teams who will make the playoffs this year who did not last year.
The 2010 NBA champions are the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team that the Cavs will play from the west? It will be a rematch with the San Antonio Spurs. I know this is a shock to some because everyone wants the Lebron, Kobe showdown in the finals but it's not going to happen this season.
I see the Cavaliers having the best record in the NBA again this season and home court advantage throughout the playoffs. The reason I believe this is because I believe they have done the most to upgrade their roster. This is the same team that had the most wins last season and went 8-0 through the first two rounds of the playoffs. The people on the outside would have you believe the Cavs needed major changes to get past Orlando, Boston or the Lakers in the finals. This is so far from the truth. Cleveland could have won it all with the roster from last year if some small things had happened in the Orlando series.
Here's the difference for Cleveland. Shaq, Anthony Parker, Moon, Powe and Big Z. These players represent the additions to the team other than big Z. People say why would you add an aging Shaq? Another comment is Shaq is not the same Shaq. Most of the people who say this are Laker fans. Cleveland only needs Shaq to play about 25-30 minutes a game when he plays. Cleveland will have the luxury of bringing a 7'3" center off the bench to share minutes with Shaq this will keep both players fresh for a championship run. All Shaq needs to do is get 15 points and 10 rebounds a game and some games I am sure Cleveland will have the twin towers on the floor at the same time because of Big Z's range
Parker and Moon are key additions to this team as well and they did not have to give up anything and added to an already impressive roster. Parker can play some point and the the two position. He has great size at about 6'6 and he can score. Moon will also be a positive for the Cavs because of his length. These two give the Cavs some great depth from the bench. They still have JJ Hickson, Jackson, Gibson and rookie Danny Green
The main understatement as to why the Cavs will win it all comes down to Lebron and Shaq. I think people under estimate how playing with both these guys makes a lot of players play better on the court. Ask Mo Williams what it's like to play with Lebron he had a career year las year. Delonte had the best year of his career. Shaq has the same effect if there is another superstar guard or small forward. Look for Lebron to have the best statistical season of his career and look for Shaq to be extremely productive in his limited minutes.
Tim Duncan and the Spurs will represent the west this season. They will be too much for the Ron Artest Lakers. San Antonio has really reloaded and with Duncan motivated and Ginolbli healthy this team knows how to get it done in June.
Getting Richard Jefferson was a hugh move that will pay big dividens for the Spurs come playoff time. RJ is a legitimate 20 point scorer and great team mate. Antonio McDyess is a big deal for the Spurs as well. He plays D, rebounds and will hit open baseline jumpers. When you add those guys to a healthy Spurs roster you have a title contender.
The up and coming teams who will make the playoffs that did not last year are the Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma in the west. In the east the Charlotte Bobcats will make their first playoff appearence.
There you have it folks. I will write more about the Lakers, Bobcats, and Memphis in my next basketball post.
